Our Mortgage team supports the nation's leading originator and servicer of residential mortgages.

National Underwriting and Production Risk Management (NUPRM) provides support for transaction underwriting, managing production risk, and implementation of policies and procedures that support the home lending process. As part of Wells Fargo Home Lending, NUPRM identifies and adopts best practices and controls in relation to retail mortgage products.

This Business Support Consultant 4 position resides within the Business Excellence group in Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. The Business Risk and Compliance Team is seeking a talented individual that will provide comprehensive coordination and oversight for large efforts within Retail production/originations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, supporting, and managing activities associated with Retail Production efforts that are long-term, significant in risk, scope, complexity, and carry a substantial impact to the relevant businesses. The successful candidate must be pro-active, organized, and is responsible for recognizing and understanding problems, bringing issues to resolution, and escalating as necessary to meet timelines. This position will interact with senior leaders and major stakeholders on a regular basis to understand risks and impacts to the organization and will create and deliver presentations to senior leaders on goals, plans, and progress.

Other Responsibilities include:

  • Managing a portfolio of corrective actions for Retail Production, identifying opportunities to improve processes and controls across the Business and ensuring project teams fully mitigate risks with appropriate solutions.

  • Building and delivering detailed project plans to implement large scale changes to the organization, tracking to established deliverables/milestones/timelines defined by Enterprise policy, and ensuring target dates are met.

  • Ensuring all efforts in scope have clear success metrics and the status, issues, risks, resource needs, financials, implementation dates and impact to other projects are understood and communicated to the right teams and senior leaders across WFHM.

  • Building and delivering executive presentations. Ability to provide complex information in a concise and digestible format.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ year of experience in one or a combination of the following: business support, project management, implementation, business operations or strategic planning in financial services

  • 2+ years of mortgage operations experience

  • 2+ years of risk and regulatory compliance experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of mortgage origination: applications, processing, and closing

  • Knowledge and understanding of state, federal, and agency legal and regulatory compliance requirements

  • Ability to represent the company/business units to internal and external auditors, RECOR, OCC, or other regulatory agencies

  • Experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • Ability to deliver multiple concurrent projects or large scale individual projects

  • Ability to motivate groups and to quickly gain the trust/confidence of executive leaders

  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment

  • Exposure to the Wells Fargo's CORE origination system

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills

  • Ability to develop reports and metrics

  • This position requires compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo's compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and required reporting of certain incidents.
