This position is responsible for D2L / BrightSpace training and support, researching, understanding and implementing new technologies and software for instructional and business purposes. The objective of the position is to provide technical support and oversight to faculty and staff on educational applications of technologies while maintaining sound pedagogy/andragogy and business practices.
Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, business administration or related field and two years of relevant work experience (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).
Knowledge of educational psychology and learning theories as they apply to the design of educational environments and materials.
Experience in the design and delivery of training and workshops on various emerging technologies and computer applications in relation to effective pedagogy/andragogy and business practices.
Experience and skills in the systematic design of instruction for online, blended/hybrid and traditional courses.
Knowledge and skills in assessment and evaluation strategies and practices for varied course delivey methods.
Experience designing online courses, certificates and/or degrees.
Proficient user of computer-based technology in educational environments.
Proficient in the use of office productivity applications.
Proficient in the use of learning management systems.
Skillful in the use of video and audio productivity applications.
Competent and applicable use of Internet-based technologies to communicate with others and integrate into course design.
Ability to become competent in computer applications and new technology tools with little or no direction from others.
Excellent project management and leadership abilities.
Ability to explain complex concepts and processes verbally and in writing to diverse population of people with varying levels of experience and knowledge.
Experience in prioritizing and sequencing projects and setting goals to achieve desired outcomes.
Ability to maintain professional interactions and relationships with diverse internal and external constituents.
Ability to exhibit innovation in use of technology, programming, course design, and in guidance given to faculty, administrators, and staff.
Experience using D2L/Brightspace Understand the Quality Matters program, rubrics, and processes. Understand of MnSCU, State on Minnesota , and federal policies to ensure compliance related to online and blended/hybird learning.
Understanding of the various programs and initiatives on campus with the ability to develop new or existing support systems to address the needs of the college and in congruence with existing initiatives.
Understanding of the governance and decision-making processes of MnSCU institutions.
