LocationCT: Rocky Hill (500 Enterprise Drive, Suite 4D)Job FamilyClinical, UnlicensedJob BriefThe Temporary Peer Specialist will be responsible for providing individual and family support, providing the necessary tools and services to ensure families are connected to community services and resources.ABOUT THE POSITIONWe are currently seeking a Peer Specialist - ASD Program to join our team at our office in Rocky Hill, CT. The Peer Specialist will be responsible for providing individual and family support, providing the necessary tools and services to ensure families are connected to community services and resources. The Peer Specialist will help individuals create a support network; create and update a local area resource database with the ASD populations, do outreach and promote recovery and resilience. This is a Flex(temporary) position.Position Responsibilities:Telephone and/or face to face support to members and families to provide resources and support. Members may need help navigating the system, completing applications (i.e. Voluntary Services, SSI, System of Care), locating non -traditional supports, and learning about self-advocacy skills.Peers will make home visits; meet with parents; enter data in computer system; search databases for appropriate resources.Develop local area resource database and guides to assist corresponding communities.Participate in a Local Area Team approach to care management to enhance member treatment by identifying resources, access to care, identifying barriers to care and gaps in service.Collaborate with the Department of Developmental Services, Department of Children and Families, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, and the Department of Social Services as necessary to support members.Position Requirements:Education: H.S. Diploma. Proficiency in the Spanish language desirable.Licensure: N/ARelevant Work Experience: Lived experience or family members with ASD is required. Experience working in the educational or community system with ASD populations. Some combination of the following experiences required. Experience in supervising and training. Experience in writing training curriculum. Good communicational and organizational skills.
