Kaiser Permanente HPSA Executive Consultant - Rockville, MD in Rockville, Maryland
Accountable for developing and implementing key initiatives and driving business results of HPSA. This position provides executive level consultation, thought partnership, and support to the VP, HPSA. The position supports the VP in integrating and aligning the key business strategies and tactics throughout the functional business units of HPSA, and to other KPMAS functional business units as assigned. The incumbent will serve as a member of the leadership team for HPSA and will participate in leadership meetings. The incumbent works closely with the VP to track results realized by projects for which the VP holds primary accountability.
Essential Responsibilities: - Serves as a thought partner in strategy development work, structuring identified and unidentified issues for resolution, researching, summarizing information and working with key stakeholders to provide the VP with information to make sound and timely decisions. Prepares and delivers reports with analysis and recommendations. - Communicate complex information in a simple and compelling format, so that HPSA leadership can take action based on the results. Manages all presentations, both internal and external, including writing speeches and talking points, researching and analyzing, translating and synthesizing data, planning logistics, graphic presentation and overall coordination. - Responsible for coordinating performance reporting for functions reporting to the VP. Suggests and communicate leading indicators and outcomes on dashboards so that VP understands current performance, trajectory and expected results. Identifies lagging capabilities and recommends pathways for building capacity and competency within the VP's functional areas. Works collaboratively with the VP's direct reports, and Health Plan leaders to assure alignment of the Regional Operating Plan and incentive programs. Implements department changes and region-wide concerns as directed by VP. - Responsible for development and execution of communication plans relating to strategy and performance. Tracking strategic initiatives by monitoring progress towards achieving goals and benchmarks. Ensuring follow-through on the part of key players, and sustaining momentum needed to drive these initiatives. Ability to create and utilize systems (informal and formal) to communicate and disseminate information on behalf of the VP. Must effectively communicate upwards, laterally and downwards throughout the organization as well with external constituencies. - Leads complex special projects or programs through planning and implementation. Provides program and project management leadership to ensure cross- functional coordination and successful implementation. Accountable for quality outcomes of the project or program. Works closely with the VP to track benefits realized.
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Experience - Minimum seven (7) years of experience in consulting, strategy, communications and/or operational improvement work. Education - Master's degree in business administration, health care administration, communications, public health administration OR Bachelor's degree in business administration, health care administration, communications, public health administration AND two (2) years of experience in a directly related field OR six (6) years of experience in a directly related field. - High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration - N/A

Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in health care administration, health care operations or a combination of experience in a health care or related field preferred. - Experience in consumer services industry. - Must demonstrate an understanding of health policy and market trends. - Understanding of the operations of KP or integrated care delivery systems preferred.
