SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST II
COMMUNITY HOSPITAL OP SURGERY
Supports Carilion's hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. Participates in the delivery of individualized peri-operative registered nursing care under the supervision and guidance of a licensed physician or a registered professional nurse. Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to assure quality patient care.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Education: High School graduate required. Graduate of approved Surgical Technology Program. Eligible to register as a Surgical Technologist with the VA Department of Health Professions required: - Provide to the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or its successor one of the two following documents: A current credential as a certified surgical technologist; or Successful completion of a surgical technologist training program during the applicant's service as a member any branch of the armed forces of the United States.
Experience: One year experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred. *Previous Surgical Technologist experience preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Certification in Surgical Technology required. AHA-BLS-HCP certification from the American Heart Association is required. BLS required.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Satisfactory completion of structured orientation program.
