•Responsible for thoroughly cleaning all areas assigned to include patient rooms, exam rooms, offices, bathrooms, ancillary areas, public areas, and other areas that may be assigned using approved cleaners and disinfectants.

•Ensure that all trash and linen is emptied and that containers are inspected for cleanliness in assigned areas.

•Inspect vents, horizontal and vertical surfaces in assigned areas for cleanliness and dust/clean by assigned schedule or as needed.

•Check all soap, hand sanitizer, lotion, paper towel and toilet paper dispensers and fill as necessary.

•Clean all high touch surfaces as listed on work schedule such as: door knobs/handles, light switches, bed rails, telephones, over bed tables, etc.

•Keep equipment and supplies clean, organized and in good working condition.

•Report any problems with equipment or supplies to immediate supervisor.

•Perform other duties as assigned by Director or designee.

•Attends General Hospital Orientation within 30 days of hire.

•Participates in Departmental Orientation.

•Be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, and to frequently push, pull, squat, and bend. Be able to climb a ladder up to 6 feet. Is able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds and periodically lift as much as 100 pounds (can be a team effort).

•Comply with all HIPAA guidelines and ensure you remain confidential at all times keeping all confidential information confidential.

Supervisor/Coordinator •Leads by example to include strictly adhering to departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

•Treat all staff in the department with dignity and respect regardless of the situation.

•Able to write out work schedules and make adjustments in emergency situations.

•Effectively communicates work assignments and expectations to staff.

•Train and develop staff on all aspects of job responsibility.

•Provide consistent daily positive and constructive feedback to staff in a respectful manner.

•Understand floor care daily and periodic maintenance in order to appropriately assign and oversee work.

•Makes rounds to ensure quality of service and quality of work.

•Responsible and Accountable to supervise day to day Environmental Services Operations.

•Conduct quality assurance rounding to include documented: staff observations, patient surveys, customer surveys, discharge inspections, terminal cleaning log audits.

•Monitors bed throughput and ensures that all discharges are being cleaned accordingly.

•Seeks manager or director for help when needed.

•Assist staff in the department with the workload by physically helping with work when needed.

•Answer departmental on call phone and address and follow up on all requests.

•Disperse keys, pagers, assignments as needed to ensure hospital needs are met and collect at end of shift.

•Consistently thanks staff and make recommendations of staff that deserve rewards or recognition.

•Report any staff and/or non-compliance issues to supervisor.

•Act as on Duty Director in cases of emergency when leading the department alone.

•Lead team huddles.

•Manage supplies and equipment ensuring proper inventories of supplies and care of equipment.

•Oversee adherence to all policies including: Human Resources, Departmental, Safety, Regulatory Compliance and other hospital policies.

•Perform other duties including the duties of an Associate I and/or II (Floor tech or OR) when assigned.

•Service as patient advocate and customer service representative for department.

•Complete all administrative duties such as shift reports, logs, inspection reports, etc.

EXPERIENCE Required – 2 – 3 years proficient Health Care housekeeping; leadership ability; excellent communication skills.

EDUCATION Required – High School Diploma or equivalent; excellent oral and written communication skills, leadership ability. Preferred – Will consider work experience in lieu of education.
