HCA, Hospital Corporation of America Nurse Practitioner PRN in Richmond, Virginia

Under the direction of the Medical Director of the Levinson Multi-Specialty Clinic, perform a wide variety of duties both within and in support of the Levinson Multi-Specialty Clinic.

  1. Obtain anticoagulation related history and physical data on patients referred to the clinic.

  2. Develop a plan of care including medication adjustment and communication with referring physician.

  3. Educate patient regarding disease and treatment, including medication administration, signs and symptoms of potential complications and interactions.

  4. Perform Point of Care testing or lab testing of INR and adjusting medication according to policies and procedures.

  5. Provide ongoing monitoring of anticoagulation patients and notification to referring physicians of noncompliance or problems.

  6. Communicate effectively with physicians, hospital staff, and coordinator, external and internal consumers.

  7. Analyze pertinent data, communicate findings, document information and assume accountability for decisions and actions.

  8. Utilize quality improvement as the basis to improve departmental processes.

  9. Facilitate ongoing revisions to policy and procedures and clinic forms.

  1. Responsible for individual professional growth and development through continuing education.

  1. *Promote the professional and clinical development of adult cardiovascular nurses and nursing students, through precepting, consulting, and formal /informal interactions. *

a) *Licensure/Certification/Registration: *Currently licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Virginia

b) *Education: *Master’s degree in Nursing or related healthcare field required. * * *c) **Experience and Qualifications: * · Minimum of three to five years experience in cardiovascular nursing, cardiac surgical nursing, and/or critical care nursing. · Possess strong interpersonal skills and flexibility in working with administrators, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and improve disease-specific programs. · Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
