The Neuroscience Nurse Educator will perform care under the direction of the Neuroscience Nursing Director utilizing and facilitating research that supports and advances nursing practice. Other responsibilities include, but are not limit to: * Evaluates educational needs of staff and develops and implements plans to meet those identified needs. * Utilizes expertise in area of specialization to provide consultation services to health care providers and consumers. * Assists in assuring that appropriate standards of care, practice and performance, and policy and procedures are in place. * Demonstrates professional growth and leadership through continuing education and involvement in professional organizations. * Participates in continuous quality improvement and JCAHO activities. * Play a lead role identifying and implementing best practices * Facilitates patient/family education.
EDUCATION: Required: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. Preferred: Master’s degree.
LICENSURE: Required: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Virginia as a registered nurse.
EXPERIENCE: Required: Three (3) years current nursing experience with two (2) years previous, successful experience in area of specialization.
