SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*
*1. While on-call, will visit patients/families who are in the facility, offering counsel, pastoral support, comfort, rites/rituals, and worship on an interdenominational/interfaith basis as well as supporting staff as needed.
*2. Will respond to “codes” and other requests for pastoral support, offering comfort to the patient/family, nearby patients and staff after a code or request for presence.
*3. Will record and maintain all logs, reports and records as required by the Director of Pastoral Care.
*4. Will maintain a professional appearance and demeanor when responding to patient/family/staff needs.
- Performs other related duties and meets other related requirements incidental to the work described herein.
Candidates will be a part of an on call rotation.
*THOSE SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS WITH AN () ARE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS CONSIDERED NECESSARY TO ACCOMPLISH THIS JOB.
Required - Previous experience working as a pastoral care giver in a health care setting.
Preferred - Previous experience in an acute care environment. Ordination/endorsement from denomination or faith community for professional ministry.
Required - Minimum of 2 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education in an ACPE accredited center. Preferred - 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education in an ACPE accredited center. A Master of Divinity (or equivalent) degree from an accredited theological seminary or university.
