Engility is deploying a multidisciplinary team of experienced professionals to provide technical management and support services that will assist the VA Product Development (PD) organization in delivering effective, consistent and timely project management execution throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Engility is seeking an Enterprise Architect to support requirements analysis and solution design activities across a broad spectrum of IT projects.

Duties to include, but not limited to:

  • Interface effectively and collaboratively with a diverse range of project staff, including project managers, PMO support staff, business analysts, developers, technical analysts, system architects, etc.

  • Create technical documentation to capture strategic service architecture details (capability, specification, implementation, deployment, charter)

  • Create technical documentation to capture conceptual and system design, hardware/software architecture and support creation of Requirements Specification Documents

  • Ensure project plans align to organization’s Enterprise Architecture

  • Conduct analyses and provide recommendations on use of EA work products to manage transition from baseline to target architectures

  • Advance the development and implementation of core EA capabilities

  • Analyze information relative to design of applications or system software for future product flexibility and expandability

  • Provide technical reviews of program/project artifacts

  • Support data architecture requirements as required

  • Provide insight to inform preparation for architecture review board presentations/stage gate reviews

  • Review development vendor deliverables for technical content and consistency with VA performance targets and technical compliance with VA guidelines

This work can be done from a remote home office location anywhere in CONUS.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and at least 3 years of experience in the architecture field

  • Experience in working on projects that leverage agile development with frequent releases

  • Knowledge of self-service, mobile, and web portal design techniques and technologies

  • Expert knowledge of service oriented architecture (SOA) design

  • Effective written and oral communication skills and understanding of how to interact with senior GS levels within the federalgovernment (e.g. GS 13s and above) is required.

  • Experience working on VA projects. Understanding of solution architecture in the federal domain.

  • Excellent attention to detail and developing quality deliverables.

  • Familiarity and interest in project management methodologies and best practices. The ideal candidate can operate comfortably in the technical areas and the project management areas

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous Experience with VA Project Management Accountability System (PMAS) and ProPath (old system) or ideally current or recent experiece with Veterans-focused Integration Process (VIP) processes and Artifacts. (new system within the VA)

  • Experience with FEA 2.0, UM, SoaML, Rational Software Architect
