Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX) Test and Manufacturing Development Engineer in Redmond, Washington

TEST AND MANUFACTURING DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES: * Design, build and troubleshoot mechanical, data acquisition and control systems for test and manufacturing equipment * Create and modify software applications to run data acquisition and control systems * Design of piece part and assembly level 3D CAD models * Proficient in GD&T and drawing creation for part fabrication, inspection and integration * Perform FEM and hand calculations for vibration and static structural analysis * Supervise system level builds by working with technicians and vendors * Consult flight engineering team on designing for manufacturing and automation BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelors Degree * 1.5 years of experience in design, engineering analysis and build experience or recent graduates with equivalent engineering team design project experience and internship experience will be considered * Experience with design, build and test of hydraulic, thermal, structural or electromechanical systems PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: * Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering Degree preferred * Solid understanding of common manufacturing processes and machines including mills, lathes, manual and CNC; Hands-on machining experience preferred * Hands-on experience with hydraulics, and electromechanical systems * Hands-on experience with testing and data acquisition * Experience using test instrumentation and control components: pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, flow meters, load cells, relays, solenoid valves, and encoders * Intermediate experience with Siemens NX, or equivalent 3D modeling software * Intermediate Labview or coding experience * Hands-on experience with mechanical integration and coding for automation a plus ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: * Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed ITAR REQUIREMENTS: To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
