Volt Information Sciences Inspection Specialist (CMM Programmer) in Redmond, Washington

Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced Inspection Specialist for a temp to hire role with a Medical Device client out of Redmond, Washington. Our client is a medical device company focused on developing and commercializing innovative, evidence-based, incisionless surgical technology for the treatment of GERD.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform receiving inspection and first article inspection as required per quality documents.

  • Develop and refine inspection methods/techniques

  • Maintain receiving inspection and test equipment in good working order at all times.

  • Assist in development of standardized inspection instructions.

  • Develop complex inspection programs for the CMM machine/vision system

  • Perform inspection of feasibility/ prototype components and supply statistical data to R&D and Engineering.

  • Instruct and train junior level support personnel in order to maintain minimum inspection backlog.

  • Provide feedback to R&D on ICD development for all new and current parts

  • Additional duties as defined by manager

  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience with a thorough understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).

  • Minimum of five or more years of inspection experience. Preferably in a medical device industry.

  • Experience in the operation and programming of Coordinate Measuring Machines.

  • Experience in the use of comparators and overlay creation.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Proficient in the use of software (MS Word, Excel, etc).

  • Lifting ability

  • Functional familiarity with Solid works or similar design software.

  • Proficient in the use of manual and computer controlled measuring machines.

  • Experience in an FDA regulated environment (QSR).

  • Experience in setting up inspection functions

Equipment Used in Perfomance of Job:

  • Optical comparator

  • Video measuring system; SmartScope experience preferred

  • Gage pins, height gage, various jigs and fixtures

  • Calipers, Micrometers

  • PC, Printer
