Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure Finance (MCI Finance) is an exciting and fast evolving finance team within Microsoft Finance at the forefront of our Mobile First, Cloud First strategy.

The team has a charter to:

• Build out end to end Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure while driving down unit cost of capacity

• Expand Cloud Services Profitability through focus on Gross Margin

• Support Long Term bets, & drive Competitive Intelligence to keep Microsoft Cloud ahead of competition

• Enhance transparency into Cloud Infrastructure investments

We are looking for a finance manager responsible for financial planning for Azure workloads within the Business Applications, Platform and Intelligence pillar.

Core responsibilities include:

• Partner with the C+E engineering organization and the C+E Product Marketing Group to support end to end product planning, profitability strategies and strategic decision making from a finance perspective

• Partner with engineering leads to identify and drive engineering efficiencies to meet gross margin profitability targets

• Manage the financial health of new and existing workloads including reporting/communicating results, budgeting and forecasting

• Articulate findings into appropriate end products to facilitate executive decision making across C+E business and finance executive leaders

• Partner across finance orgs, including revenue planning, infrastructure, R&D, and FP&A to drive results

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, computer science or engineering MBA preferred

• 4+ years of relevant finance or business experience with progressive advancement within your discipline

• Deep understanding of the technology industry, particularly in commercial public and private cloud services, business models and economics

• Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking

• Deep modeling capabilities and ability to work with financial systems

• Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty in a business that evolves at super-fast pace

• Comfort working at multiple altitudes, from strategic/high-level projects to detailed COGS analysis

• Proven leadership skills, with demonstrated results in proactively driving and delivering high value/high-impact project results through both individual and v-team efforts

• Strong partnering capabilities, with the ability to influence others without direct authority and appropriately push back when required

• Executive level oral and written communication skills - ability to communicate complex analysis in a simple way

• Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines

• High level of self-motivation; ability to quickly identify what needs to be accomplished and resourcefulness to get things done
