Performs and evaluates high complexity tests

Assists with laboratory support functions

Organizes personnel and activities in assigned area in the Core lab

Position Requirements:

Thorough knowledge of testing procedures and quality standards.

Special Skills and Equipment Knowledge:

Problem solving skills

Technical expertise

Use of laboratory instrumentation

Use of computer word processing, spreadsheet and LIS software.

Education Requirements:

Associates or baccalaureate degree in a biological or chemical science, or education, certification and experience necessary to qualify as a General Supervisor under CLIA 88 personnel requirements.

License Requirements:

Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Medical Technologist with Microbiology experience
