Quorum Federal Credit Union IT Systems Administrator in Purchase, New York

The IT Systems Administrator supports and maintains company technology/systems as well as providing incident and problem management support to onsite / remote employees and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provides primary help desk and desktop client support to HQ, Service Center and remote staff. Provides primary support for monitoring and managing helpdesk tickets.

  2. Administers and maintains helpdesk application and hardware system(s). Maintains and supports special purpose and/or third party vendor application systems.

  3. Configures, installs, tests, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains systems related hardware and software, which support IT operations.

  4. Applies analytical systems skills and procedures to assess hardware and software issues. Provides end user incident / problem management resolution by assessing hardware, software or systems problems and taking appropriate actions to rectify issues.

  5. Works in partnership with the Information Technology team to ensure all appropriate procedures are maintained and followed with respect to physical, network, servers and desktops.

  6. Supports business continuity and disaster recovery processes and procedures.

  7. Manages departmental infrastructure systems projects as needed. Participates as a team member in general infrastructure projects.

  8. Identifies process improvements to streamline operations and maintain adequate controls across the organization.

  9. Functions as a business lead on departmental or organization wide projects. Contributes expertise in his/her assigned area and executes certain deliverables on the project.

  10. Provides off-hours support to employees, service centers and vendors as necessary, as part of an overall infrastructure “on call” support rotation schedule.

  11. Creates and maintains systems documentation and procedures as required, and trains for new software/upgrades.

  12. Represents the organization in matters relating to vendors for support of services (i.e. telephone, network connectivity, software, hardware).

  13. Promotes and maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner consistent with professional standards to get along with members, co-workers, management and vendors.

  14. Keeps abreast of industry developments including, but not limited to changes in regulations and technology.

  15. Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures and Banking/Credit Union Regulations.

  16. Performs additional duties as required.

Scope: The IT Systems Administrator works under minimal supervision exercising independent judgment. This person must be action oriented, self-motivated and creative while being highly functional.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree required.

  2. Minimum of three years of experience. Must have experience working with installed applications and working knowledge of Microsoft Products including Windows 7/8/10 and MS Office Suite. Must have familiarity with PC hardware and software, printers, and local and wide area networks, including knowledge of networking protocols such as DHCP, DNS, and FTP.

  3. Knowledge and experience with Helpdesk Support and Incident Management Tools, Microsoft Windows desktop imaging technology, and Microsoft Server products a plus.

  4. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.

  5. Strong decision making and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/duties.

  6. Results driven, service oriented, self-motivated and able to work independently.

  7. Trustworthy with the ability to maintain highest level of integrity and trust.

  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Environmental / Physical / Mental Requirements:

The IT Systems Administrator performs a major portion of his/her duties through verbal and written communications. It is critical that he / she possess the ability to communicate with clarity, while understanding and explaining complex situations to team members and outside contacts. Accuracy is essential and he / she must possess the ability to proof read documentation and correspondence to insure free of errors and fraud. The person will spend a good portion of the day seated at a workstation, but may also be mobile throughout the credit union for purposes of meetings, working with others, etc. Position may require lifting up to 25 pounds.
