Kaiser Permanente Manager Systems Administration Health Systems (Airport Way Regional Laboratory) in Portland, Oregon

In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is responsible for managing a team in the configuration of complex system builds, testing, validation, and ongoing production support of assigned applications. This position will possess clinical or IT systems knowledge and experience to develop and support safe and high quality care using the electronic health record. This position will provide oversight on the in depth and precise investigation and documentation of future- state operational specifications and application functionality by managing the analysis of application capabilities, workflows, data collection, report details, and other clinical and/or technical issues associated with Epic software. Some of the unique challenges this position will face include overseeing the analysis of clinical and business operations and investigating user preferences; overseeing the prioritization & implementation of requested system changes & updates; serving as a liaison between end users, third parties, and Epic implementation staff. This position also oversees the development and documentation of internal procedures, the preparation of specifications for system enhancements, and the analysis and testing of new release functionality.3-5

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: - Minimum four (4) years experience working with EPIC or comparable health system softwareORMinimum four (4) years scripting or programming experience. - Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Social Science, Education, Business, Health Care or related field and Minimum eight (8) years working in IT or operations. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Preferred Qualifications: - Four (4) years experience in EPIC administration and configuration. - Four (4) years experience in the administration and custom configuration of large of-the-shelf applications or software packages. - Four (4) years experience in enterprise UNIX/Linux administration. - Four (4) years experience as a licensed health care practitioner (e.g., nurse, pharmacist, respiratory therapist, etc.). - Five (5) years system administration experience. - Three (3) years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above) - Two (2) years managing operating budgets and/or project financials. - Four (4) years experience in a leadership role of a large matrixed organization. - Two (2) years experience managing vendor relationships. - One (1) year experience in organizational change management. - EPIC certification OR completion of an accredited EPIC Proficiency training program.(Preference may be given to specific module certifications depending on the business needs of the job opening)
