Job Description: The Special Procedures Tech works u nder the direction of the Diagnostic Imaging Director, Assistant Director or Lead Technologist, performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures that may apply ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology in patients. Regulates the equipment used to expose the x-ray film and/or digital receptors, completes the appropriate paperwork and computer applications, organizes and prepares the film/images for interpretation by the radiologist(s). Operates equipment safely and maintains ALARA standards while performing all types of procedures within the scope of the Special Procedure Technologist profession. Establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments and medical staff. Specific position duties may be found in the Competency Check-Off form for this position.
Required Job Qualifications include: * Graduate of an accredited program for Radiographers.
FL licensure or permit to practice medical imagining
ARRT Certification (R) required
ARRT Certification (VI), preferred
Current Certification in Basic Life Support
Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
