Oracle(NYSE:ORCL) is funding an ambitious initiative to accelerate cancer research. TheOracle Cancer Research Cloud (OCRC) will provide cancer researchers a private cloudand a shared data warehouse in which to conduct their research. The datawarehouse will be pre-populated with large volumes of genomic data and othercancer related data. In return Oracle data scientists will curate and anonymizeresearch data and add it to the data warehouse. This will expand the knowledgebase available to other academic researchers, as well as pharmaceuticalresearchers, insurance companies and clinicians providing patient care. We hireexceptional people and trust them to do their jobs with minimal oversight. Ourteam will be building the cloud infrastructure and populating the data warehousefrom established data sources. Our data scientists use cutting edge techniquesfor data ingestion, curation and integration of all data related to cancerresearch and treatment. Our cloud team uses agile Dev/Ops practices to buildand manage the Cancer Research Cloud on the Oracle Bare Metal cloudinfrastructure. Our application development and UI teams use Agile developmentpractices to build the applications that will be used daily by research scientists,clinical oncologists and other user communities.

_Position Overview:_

The Cloud Architecture,Development and Operations team is looking for several experienced user interfaceapplication developers. We will be using a mix of JavaScript UI and micro-servicesbackend technologies to deliver visually delightful and easy to useapplications to our clients. Understanding and applying security principles isa preference. Ability to work with product owner/story developer to iterate onthe user interface is a preference. Experience working in an agile team is arequirement. UI and application development generalists with depth in multipleareas are highly desired. Experience with data visualization is desirable.Experience with core Oracle technologies is a significant plus. Experienceworking with scientists or in a medical industry/clinical setting is a plus.

UI teammembers will be responsible for building and maintaining the user interfacesfor all OCRC applications. This demands the ability to work within an agileteam framework and to focus on details while being aware of the bigger picture.The team may be geographically distributed, so strong teamwork is needed. Thesuccessful candidates will be expected to work alone, or with other teammembers to deliver projects from the team backlog. They preference follow theUX design team s style guide and specifications while addressing therequirements of individual stories. Creativity is expected. Most of the workdaywill be project work but we will be preferred to respond to clients or otherteam members on an as-needed basis.
