Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona, I Direct Care Worker in Pima, Arizona

As a condition of employment, all CCS employees are required to qualify for an Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

Position Purpose

Provides general supervision of the home operation, to include supervising the activities of the residents and responsibilities in the food service program. Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions
  • Assists residents in daily and overnight activities
  • Provides training to residents in house chores and after meal clean up
  • Answers the phone, takes messages, keep records and other related tasks
  • Performs various household tasks, and notifies supervisor of any home maintenance problems,
  • Attends meetings with supervisor and counselors
  • Assists new mothers in care of newborn infants during the first two weeks after delivery, assists any resident during an illness
  • Provides infant care and parenting skills training, primarily through modeling and sharing information with young mothers
  • Prepares breakfast and does DOE record keeping
  • May drive agency vehicle on company business
Minimum Qualifications

Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position, and will be considered by the Corporate Director of Human Resources

  • High School / GED
  • 1 year experience in working with children or 1 year post high school education in a program leading to a degree in the field of childcare welfare or human services
  • Experience and ability to supervise, interact with, and maintain a positive working and caring relationship with teen-agers
  • Ability to organize time and materials, and to maintain records and reports
  • Must be at least 21 yrs of age due to licensing requirements
  • Must obtain Client Intervention Training (CIT)
  • Proven skills with basic computer usage
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proven strong communication skills – oral and written are clear, concise, and in an organized fashion using appropriate style, grammar and tone
  • Obtain State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Valid Arizona Driver License and Arizona Motor Vehicle division 39 months Motor Vehicle Report
  • TB skin test and drug screening
  • First Aid and CPR certification
Desired Qualifications
  • Associates in related field
  • Bilingual, English / Spanish verbal and written
  • Additional years of directly related experience
