The VP Network Engineering will be responsible for the strategy and design of the FIS network environment. This position will oversee engineering for the Enterprise WAN, Customer WAN and Data Center Network environments globally. The FIS network supports 20,000 clients and 55,000 employees in 130 countries.

_Responsibilities_

  • Provide leadership and vision for network strategy and reference architecture which tie directly to business requirements, availability and reliability

  • Lead the engineering team in the design of the FIS Enterprise backbone MPLS network, including routing protocols/architecture and VRF design/management utilizing best practices.

  • Lead the engineering team in the design of the FIS Data Center network, including LAN switching, routing and load balancing services

  • Interface with CISO organization as appropriate to ensure network designs are in alignment with security policy

  • Interface with telco carriers to ensure appropriate designs are put in place to provide required levels of availability

  • Participate in various security audits, both internal and external.

  • Lead an effort to develop automation and orchestration to simplify provisioning and changes within the network environment

  • Lead the network engagement for major enterprise projects and initiatives

  • Develop engineering standards and documentation that will be utilized by the network build and implementation teams

  • Engage with strategic vendor partners to develop cost effective solutions which meet current and future business requirements

  • Keep current on new technologies and trends, and assess benefits to FIS

  • Meet with clients to discuss general network technology and FIS specifics as required

  • Presentations to executive management on network strategy, budget and other topics as required

  • Support network operations during critical incidents for assistance with resolution

  • Provide input to annual budget process

_Qualifications_

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related discipline

  • 10- 15 years of hands on experience in network engineering, with at least 5 years managing an engineering team

  • Strong technical background in network disciplines. Experience should include environments with Cisco and Juniper deployments, privately managed multi-protocol MPLS, large client base WAN infrastructure and large Data Center environments.

  • Strong leadership and people skills, with the ability to manage and develop diverse engineering talent with a focus on meeting the business requirements

  • Ability to solve complex problems and manage in crisis situations

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

Executive management responsible for overseeing the overall information systems function for a group of lines of business or equivalent breadth of IT functions. Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Makes final decisions on technology and operational matters and accountable for financial performance (e.g., operating and capital expenses) and the attainment of current and long-range objectives for the group. Typically requires more than twelve years of experience in software development or other related IT discipline with at least five years of senior leadership responsibility. Typically also requires in-depth knowledge and expertise in the practices, regulations and operations of the group.
