This key team leadership role is responsible for managing and coordinating the resources and processes needed to deliver software releases of company products. This individual will help define the vision and strategy for their development team by driving project initiatives that deliver features, functionality and services to the business.


Candidates for this position will:

  • Work with Team Leads, Business Analysts and other Development Managers to plan and execute projects, and ensure that teams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver products effectively

  • Collaborate with Team Leads to establish goals and to create and maintain department-wide initiatives

  • Track and report the status of multiple projects, acting as a gateway through which work is assigned to appropriate team members

  • Demonstrate leadership abilities to the IT management team measured in part by the deployment of software enhancements and fixes consistent with the established release schedules

  • Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development

  • Organize the team to balance our workload and efficiently complete the projects

  • Match project backlog to the staffing level – interview and hire new personnel as needed

  • Responsible for insuring that the team has the equipment and software needed to operate efficiently and effectively

  • Provide training opportunities to the team on new and emerging technologies

  • Empowers the team to learn and take on additional responsibility

  • Understands business rules and how systems across the company interact

  • Applies knowledge and understanding to multiple applications

  • Helps team understand the business initiatives

  • Available outside of normal hours to assist with problem resolution

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Must have at least 2 years of experience working through the design, development, and release cycle of delivering software

  • Strong leadership, project management, time management and problem solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

  • Attention to detail – ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust on the fly

  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to get things done


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
