Global Product Development IT is responsible for defining, implementing and maintaining global information systems across GM’s Development and Design sectors to deliver the world’s best vehicles.
Computer Aided Test is the GM Development domain responsible for the validation of GM’s vehicles, components and propulsion systemsutilizing custom developed solutions, as well as COTS products.Validation activities are conducted on roads utilizing GM test tracks and simulated in laboratory environments around the world.
About the Java Software Developer:
We are looking for Java Software Developers to work out of our Chandler, AZ or Warren, MI locations. The JavaSoftware Developer will create and maintain applications for use in a variety of functional labs and validation disciplines including, but not limited to: Safety Labs, Vehicle Dynamics, Battery Lab, Emissions Lab, Electromagnetic Compatibility, Structural Durability and Corrosion. These applications range from scheduling and tracking test plans and results, to interfacing with and controlling test equipment.
The Java Software Developer will also be responsible for:
- Analyzing, designing, coding and testing of validation, instrumentation, test scheduling and lab analytics systems.
- Utilizing software tools and technologies, which include Java, C#, and SQL.
- Working independently and under the direction of a development manager, lead IT developers and architects.
Computer Aided Test Software Developer Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent programming experience.
- 5+ years IT experience in a developer role
Deep understanding of the following:
J2EE design and development
Additional knowledge and proficiency in some the following products/technologies:
Unix: Java, JEE Servlets
- Microsoft: ASP.NET, C#
- Mobile: Android, iOS
- Databases: Oracle, SQL Server
- Web Application Servers: WebLogic, Microsoft IIS
- Development Environments: Eclipse, Visual Studio
- OS: Linux, UNIX, Windows
- Tools: Labview, MATLAB
- Methodologies: Agile, Spiral, Waterfall, Iterative
