PSE Sr. Launch Engineer- APQP Description:

The Product Support Engineering organization has an Electrical Engineering opening at the Penang, Aerospace site.

The PSE team is responsible for executing APQP and Flawless Launch Process. PSE will be driving linkage between E&T and ISC to ensure Flawless Launch. This is newly formed organization to drive culture change of launch on time with zero PPM, RTY >96%, and UPC <1.0. PSE will also be involve in Problem Resolution projects utilizing the Six Sigma DMAIC process This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong engineering, quality and operations background. Intent of this position is to provide strong support to engineering team by performing APQP task and working closely with cross functional team ISC, Quality, Program Management and engineering to execute Flawless Launch Process and also support Problem Resolution projects. Position requires interacting with various product groups during product launch process to facilitate and execute DFMEA, KC/CC, lessons learned to achieve Flawless Launch, including problem resolution during different stages of Product Development. Position reports to Launch COE Leader.

• Prepare Flawless Launch (FL) Estimates for new programs using Aero Estimation Tool (AET) • Facilitate and create DFMEA for new product launches • Define Key Critical Characteristics based on lessons learned • Analyze past warranty/quality failure data and provide input to DFMEA. • Facilitate and drive by working closely with AME, Quality, PM & Plant NPI for Design for Manufacturing (DFM). • Facilitate and help create risk assessment at various IPDS phases. • Ability to challenge engineering and others for risk mitigation plan on product launches. • Collaborate with AME | Quality to follow Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) practices • Ability to handle different programs simultaneously. • Ensure On-Time-Launch (OTL) elements are integrated into IPT Schedules • Present OTL status in monthly MOR • Follow IPDS launch process. • Work with reactive quality team for close loop and lessons learned. • Ability to work specific projects using six sigma approaches to address all launch issues as either a task force leader or team member. • Ensure Manufacturing Readiness Review ( MRA) is done for launch • Interaction with various product groups • Review and provide guidance on training materials (DFSS & APQP). • Support template for good DFM, DFMEA, KCC, etc. • Build lessons learned data for all future launches. • Participate in audit to ensure APQP is executed per plan as need base. • Participate in RTY reduction projects as need basis

Skills Required:

• Leadership skills to influence others. • Technical understanding of Aerospace industry or Automotive industry and how it works. • Aerospace product knowledge is plus. • Knowledge of corrective action process, process control plans, FMEA and gauge R & R. • Knowledge of APQP, product launch and SPC tools. • Ability to read schematics. • Good communication skills. • Ability to audit and challenge team. • Understanding of risk analysis. • Detail understanding of Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. • Demonstrated ability to use influencing skills to accomplish goals and objectives. • Able to manage multiple priorities. • Strong analytical skills; able to use data, communicate key trends, develop and execute continuous improvement plans.

• B. S. in Engineering or equivalent. • Senior Engineers requires 6 years experience either in engineering, quality, or manufacturing in Automotive or Aerospace industry or related environment.

Additional Qualifications: • Six Sigma Green Belt, Design for Six Sigma, Black Belt certification is preferred. • Beneficial to have either mechanical engineering or electrical engineering degree
