To Assist Medical Staff with maintaining accurate and complete continuing medical education files on all participants. Establish and maintain good communication with all health disciplines including hospital personnel; to assure the records of educational activities are in order. Additional responsibilities may include planning, organizing and coordinating meetings and other duties of the department.
_PRIMARY FUNCTION_ Provides management and advanced professional skills and abilities in the coordination, administration and implementation of CME programs and special events. Manages continuing medical education programs/final syllabus books and other related materials for physicians in compliance with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Essentials, Elements, and Policies and other regulatory agencies. Coordinates enduring material activities. Coordinates Regularly Scheduled Series activities.
_KEY FUNCTIONS_ Coordinates assigned CME-certified enduring materials process for internet materials and printed materials, including documentation of participation, trouble-shooting with participants, and production and distribution of certificates. Coordinates assigned CME-only activities ensuring that all ACCME guidelines are met. Coordinates CME logistics directly with departmental personnel and program chair, produces appropriate CME verification forms, speaker disclosure summary and certificates using ACCME-required language. Coordinates the administration and documentation of educational monthly and quarterly RSS (Regularly Scheduled Series) activity information, which includes recording/documenting post attendance data in both electronic CME and compliance/non-compliance databases, communicating ACCME guidelines, conducting in-service trainings, and reporting compliance issues to RSS administrative contacts, monitoring and reporting compliance/non-compliance of ACCME Standards and procedures; and creating, sustaining and reporting attendee continuing medical education histories. Assists administrative contacts with AAV troubleshooting. Create compliance reports and attend RSS Compliance Meetings.
_POSITION REQUIREMENTS:_ __ License / Certifications / Requirements None Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred Experience: Minimum of two (2) years recent secretarial experience, preferably in a hospital setting. Knowledge of CME accreditation requirements (TMA). Knowledge of credentialing and medical staff organization a plus. PC Skills – demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to build professional reports and presentations. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent writing and composition skills. Knowledge of medical terminology. Must display a high degree with confidential matters. Ability to deal effectively with Administrators and Medical Staff Leaders.
