Scope of Position:

This is an Engineering intern position supporting early stage development of mechanical designs and process understanding. This position requires the candidate to work with a team that designs and develops mechanical equipment and the fixturing needed for development of new or improved products or processes. Beyond mechanical design the candidate will test, measure and analyze the performance of mechanical components or devices, use computer-aided design software, and document and present their findings or recommendations.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  1. Designing and executing experiments
  2. Analyzing data and forming conclusions and recommendations
  3. Collaborating with other scientist and engineers to get answers and develop solutions
  4. Communicating and documenting results.

Travel Requirements:


Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

8am - 5pm, Mon.-Fri.

Required Education:

Candidate must have completed a minimum of 2 years or higher toward BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.

Required Years and Area of Experience:

  • Coursework and understanding in Design and Manufacturing, Mechanics and Materials required.

Required Skills:

  1. Coursework and understanding in Design and Manufacturing, Mechanics and Materials required.
  2. Coursework or experience in optics, electronics, adhesives or programming would be beneficial for this position.
  3. Working knowledge of CAD (Solidworks/ProE) desirable.
  4. General engineering concepts.
