This position defines and develops the enterprise-wide software development & technical specifications framework and leads a team of highly technical application specialists and engineers (both from MVW and 3rd Parties); providing end-to-end technical services to facilitate the effective delivery of optimal solutions that meets MVW business objectives. The ideal candidate will be a highly technical leader who can build and develop a strong technology team focused on implementing software development best practices, advancing DevOps capabilities and developing a framework to define and enforce technical excellence of internal and third party solution development.

_Specific Job Summary:_
The Vice President, System Design and Engineering is a key leadership role for IT Solutions Delivery at MVW. This VP role is responsible for managing a highly technical team of developers, engineers, and subject matter experts (both from MVW and 3rd parties) and developing centers of excellence across the entire application stack to support integration and orchestration activities, along with complex application delivery projects. This position works closely with Enterprise Architecture, Project Delivery, Service Validation and Test, IT Data Services, as well as others in IT and across the MVW business to consistently deliver optimal solutions that support enterprise strategies and maximize the business value of technology investments.
This role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the technical specifications and software development processes, frameworks, methodologies, and tools; along with the end-to-end technical services required to enforce consistency and technical excellence of all development activities (internal, external and global) and ensure our solutions are aligned with enterprise architecture and support defined business objectives.

Accountable for the system design, software development activities and quality of application development deliveries.
Responsible for implementing technical and software requirements specifications framework ensuring all application development projects are aligned with enterprise architecture, business requirements and project objectives.
Ensures the development of all applications are in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
Establishes, implements and updates processes, tools and best practices for application development activities.
Drives standardization of application development tools and processes, for both waterfall and agile development, that will drive consistency, predictability and increase quality throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Establishes and manages effective technical estimation.
Leads advancement of DevOps capabilities.
Defines & manages key metrics and reporting to drive continuous improvement.

10 to 15 years of IT experience with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience leading complex application development activities.
Experience implementing technical specification and requirements framework with end-to-end traceability to business requirements, enterprise architecture approach (AAD) and through testing and validation.
Strong knowledge and experience with SDLC methodologies and experience with waterfall and agile methodologies.
Experience managing multiple technology based products and development teams; providing technical leadership to projects.
Strong client service orientation, collaboration and partnering skills
Demonstrated success leading large scale initiatives/transformation across enterprise platforms
Experience leading agile transformations and operating in a DevOps Model
