_Business Context:_

The VP, Project Delivery is to lead the Project Management Office (PMO) and the Application Delivery organizations and has overall accountability for the technical and project execution of all approved business technology initiatives. This leader works in collaboration with IT and business partners, along with external Service Providers to consistently deliver optimal solutions that meet the needs of the business.

This leader provides senior leadership to a team of 10 -- 15 associates and oversees a set of delivery tools and processes that deliver the right level of governance and oversight across the entire I.T. project portfolio, which typically consists of 25-35 projects with an annual spend of approximately $15-25 million; driving predictable consistency, quality, and project sponsor satisfaction.

_Specific Job Summary:_

The Vice President, Project Delivery is a key leadership role for IT Solutions Delivery at MVW. This VP role is responsible for managing a team of project managers and application delivery leads (both from MVW and 3rd Parties) and has overall responsibility for the successful delivery of approved projects, including application development, infrastructure and SaaS implementations. This position works closely with System Design and Engineering, Service Validation and Test, IT Data Services, as well as others in IT and across the MVW business to consistently deliver optimal solutions that support enterprise strategies and maximize the business value of technology investments.

This role requires a seasoned leader with a highly collaborative and partnering style in facilitating enterprise-wide results through thought leadership, influence, credibility, experience and technical expertise. This role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the project management and application delivery processes, frameworks, methodologies, and tools required to ensure projects are consistently delivered as planned, relative to cost, schedule and quality. In collaboration with IT Business Planning, Enterprise Architecture, System Design and Engineering, and IT Service Procurement, ensure appropriate technical approaches, project plans and estimates are developed for approval by MVW's technology governance committees. Once approved, ensure projects follow standard processes for governance, technical execution, change management, and project implementation. This position will include the overall direction for scope of work, technical leadership, staffing models, process design and management of third party service providers.

A key aspect of this position is providing technical leadership to multiple project teams consisting of, application development resources, technical SMEs and onshore / offshore vendor resources. This position will set the overall direction for scope of work, staffing models, process design and management of third party service providers. This position is also responsible for ensuring that application development principles and standards are adhered to and application projects delivered meet the organization's expectations for functionality and quality.

Project Delivery

  • Responsible for ensuring all projects within IT Portfolio are delivered on time, within budget and to an agreed quality level.

  • Accountable for the technical execution and delivery of application development, SaaS implementations and infrastructure projects.

  • Establishes, implements and updates processes, tools and best practices for the Project Delivery Organization, which consists of Application Delivery and the Project Management Office (PMO).

  • Drives the standardization of application delivery and project management tools/processes that; drive consistency and predictability throughout the project delivery cycle, continually increase quality, and ensure project sponsor satisfaction.

  • Defines & manages key metrics and reporting to drive continuous improvement.

  • Establishes strategic relationships throughout the business and with key vendors and leads Delivery staff in the management and fulfilment of stakeholder expectations.

  • Effective management of project risks and issues; provides executive sponsors, senior leaders, and stakeholders timely information regarding project status, risks, and escalated issues.

  • Ensures delivery of all applications are in accordance with industry standards and best practices.

  • Provides leadership for the development teams through a strong understanding of software quality and change management.

  • In collaboration with IT Service Procurement, effectively selects, engages, and manages 3rd Party Service providers, as needed to achieve planned results.

  • Monitors Service Provider(s) performance of services for consistency with both the spirit and the letter of the agreement.

  • Works with Service Provider(s) and promotes timely resolution of escalated service delivery problems and minimizes the impact of any delivery issues.

  • Provides early warning to the appropriate stakeholders regarding degraded or missed service levels.

  • Facilitates team and Service Provider compliance with the agreement.

  • Establishes and manages effective estimation and planning processes.

  • Partners with the VP IT Finance to ensure all projects are proactively managing project financials/forecasts.

  • Conducts project reviews with IT Senior Leadership team.

  • Establishes and manages department budget.

Required:
