Kratos Technology & Training Solutions Visual Systems Engineer in ORLANDO, Florida

Job Description:

Candidate will be responsible for the selection and implementation of all components of a simulator visuals system to include conducting trade studies, generating subcontractor specifications requirements compliance assurance, and integration plans. The candidate will be required to support the modification and optimization of code to meet specific functional requirements. Candidate will be required to implement various display systems and support their integration into the system configuration. The candidate will be responsible for set-up, integrate the and validate the visuals system in-house and in the field.

Experience and Skills:

Bachelors degree in Sofware or Hardware enginerring and a minimum of 7 years of related experience.

At least seven (7) years experience in the implementation / integration and test of COTS visuals subsystems into high fidelity immersive simulators. Minimum Experience must include:

Working knowledge of present Image Generators (IGs), multi channel projection displays systems and helmet mounted displays (HMDs).

Selecting the optimal visual system components through requirements analysis and application specific trade studies to achieve system performance requirement, and budget constraints;

Developing and testing Linux based host code relevant to the visuals system to achieve compliance with IEEE 1730 CIGI data protocols and content

Defining and implementing visuals view window characteristics and controlling real time viewpoint control through input devices such as head tracking and manual control;

Converting NPSI and Open Flight Models into native IG formats using DBGS and Implementing additional real time 3D models into the native model libraries for real time rendering;

Performing multichannel projection display system set-ups, correlations, alignments, edge matching, edge blends and geometry corrections using display and/or IG OEM tools.

Generating windows based GUI to control visuals scene, terrain and environmental attributes,

Specifying, evaluating and implementing sensor simulations through various projected and wearable displays.

Generating and compiling code and interfaces required to realistically articulate and activate certain visuals model elements in real time.

Generating and managing scene load priorities, tailoring multi pronged polygon management schemes and associated work around while optimizing terrain and model presentation in a distributed environment

Working in and managing change a pre-release and post release configuration controlled environment using present configuration management tools and processes.

Optimizing visual system architecture, components and interfaces to minimize transport delay and cue synch.
