JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for promoting and supporting superior sales and service within the branch and proactively reviewing the quality of branch operations. Ensuring customer needs handled in a prompt and professional manner by developing front line employees in the areas of customer service, technical proficiencies, and compliance issues. Develops and motivates staff in the promotion and sales of deposit and loan products for the branch. Ensures unparalleled customer service and maintains and grows customer portfolio through active sales performance. Utilizes knowledge and experience in exercising discretion and independent judgment in resolving problems, handling difficult customers and answering questions. Works closely with the Regional Manager to promote a team atmosphere and approach. Is responsible for the income and expenses of the branch under direct supervision. Responsible for timely completion of required training applicable to the position and regular and effective application of such training in the performance of the position.
COMPLIANCE: In addition to the employee’s regular responsibilities American National Bank realizes that a cohesive Compliance Program is the responsibility of every employee in the bank to ensure compliance with applicable consumer protection laws and regulations. Total bank support is required, but the Audit Committee and Management acknowledge that their influence, direction, and guidance are critical to implementing an effective Compliance Program. It is also a requirement that all employees especially Management and Officers demonstrate unequivocal support of the Compliance Program so that all bank employees understand and perceive the importance of the Compliance Program. Management's involvement will be critical to administering an effective Compliance Program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Promotes the growth of the branch and accomplishment of marketing objectives of attracting and expanding new business through: a. Development/utilization of a thorough working knowledge of the bank/branch goals, policies, operating procedures and services, as well as all current marketing and advertising promotions. Ensures that this information is disseminated to branch staff and that business is conducted in accordance with such goals, policies, and procedures. (20%) b. Selects, coaches, develops, and motivates a staff that achieves the organization’s business plan. Develops a team environment with employee morale that exhibits a positive customer service environment. Works with branch staff to ensure goals are met in production, expense control, fee income and operational efficiencies. Conducts regular branch meetings to keep staff inform/motivated, share ideas and resolve problems. (20%) c. Works with the Regional Manager to establish specific measurable sales, customer service, and productivity goals for the branch; evaluating results to ensure goals are being met. (10%) d. Call on potential customers for deposit and cash management services. (10%) e. Oversees management of the branch income and expenses. (5%) f. Attend community events to actively promote the bank. (5%) 2. Exercises responsibility for the day-to-day management of the branch which may include ensuring that the branch balances all transactions, physical facilities are maintained, and security, CRA and compliance policies and procedures are being followed. (10%) 3. Performs consumer lending and is responsible for sourcing referrals for commercial and cash management partners. Sells deposit products and services to current and prospective customers. (10%) 4. Performs retail transactions, including teller, new account and lending, as customer traffic and branch scheduling demands. (5%)
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Performs other related tasks and duties as directed by management. (5%)
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: 1. Knowledge of the bank’s savings, checking and lending policies and basic credit and financing guidelines. 2. Basic knowledge of credit and financing. 3. Knowledge of the bank’s operational structure, policies and procedures. 4. Knowledge of bank regulations. 5. Skill in operating computer terminal, personal computer, adding machine, copy machine, and facsimile machine. 6. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products. 7. Ability to communicate both oral and written with co-workers and customers in a professional manner.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 1. Degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience. 2. Three years sales/service experience in a bank with two years management experience. 3. Previous calling and sales experience required.
