JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for performing Conventional and Government Mortgage loan processing functions, from receipt of loan documentation through preparation of package for loan approval and through underwriting while ensuring Regulatory, Agency, Investor and Bank compliance. Provides superior customer service to both internal and external customers and fellow employees by demonstrating a high degree of professionalism. Adheres to all state and federal regulations including but not limited to HMDA, RESPA, Fair Lending practices, etc. Responsible for timely completion of required training applicable to the position and regular and effective application of such training in the performance of the position.
COMPLIANCE: In addition to the employee’s regular responsibilities American National Bank realizes that a cohesive Compliance Program is the responsibility of every employee in the bank to ensure compliance with applicable consumer protection laws and regulations. Total bank support is required, but the Audit Committee and Management acknowledge that their influence, direction, and guidance are critical to implementing an effective Compliance Program. It is also a requirement that all employees especially Management and Officers demonstrate unequivocal support of the Compliance Program so that all bank employees understand and perceive the importance of the Compliance Program. Management's involvement will be critical to administering an effective Compliance Program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1 Processes new Conventional and Government mortgage applications; such as but not limited to reviewing new applications for completion and early disclosures, obtains all documentation necessary to verify application information, evaluates documentation to ensure compliance with Agency, Investor and Bank requirements, finds solutions when verifications alter the quality of the loan and calculates allowable income to be used for qualification of the loan. (65%) 2 Ensures information is accurate in System of Record and Tracks the process and receipt of documentation in the System of Record. (20%) 3 Detects non-qualifying applicants early in the process and works with the Mortgage Loan Originator towards innovative viable alternatives to qualify the Borrower. (10%)
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Performs other duties as assigned. (5%)
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 1. Thorough knowledge of loan documents, insurance requirements and real estate terminology preferred 2. Good verbal and written communication skills 3. Good organizational skills 4. Strong analytical skills 5. Ability to work under time constraints. 6. Skill in operating the following office equipment: computer, calculator, typewriter, copy machine, fax and postage machine. 7. PC proficiencies with Windows based software in Word and Outlook
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 1. High School graduate or equivalent. 2. 2 years 1st Mortgage Processing experience preferred
PHYSICAL DIMENSIONS: Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Job involves sitting most of the time and if walking and standing is required, only occasionally.
