Essential Function/Duties:

*Prepares patients for examinations and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physician to be performed. *Performs basic to expert ultrasound procedures in assigned specialty service area utilizing a variety of equipment and techniques in accordance with established clinical practice standards, guidelines and protocols. *Interacts with physicians, staff, family and patient to develop and implement the plan of care. *Communicates clinical findings and makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. *Prioritizes and ensures completion of clinical and non-clinical work assignments. *Plans, conducts and documents in-services to achieve and/or sustain technical competency of assigned staff. *Precepts, orients and provides advanced level assistance to new, and/or student sonographers. *Assists in the development and monitoring of departmental quality assurance, performance improvement and clinical practice compliance programs. *Assists in completing and monitoring user-level and/or vendor equipment maintenance requirements. *Serves as lead employee or assistant supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

**Education: Graduation from an AMA approved program for Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology.

**Experience: Four (4) year full-time equivalent employment as a Registered Sonographer in one or more of the primary specialty areas. *Must have one year ofcongenital echoexperience

**Licensure: Meet American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) registry requirements and published standards as a fully credentialed sonographer in one or more of the specialty areas (Diagnostic, Cardiac, or Non-Invasive Vascular).
