Essential Function/Duties:

*Performs duties of shift supervisor.
*Observes and evaluates job performance of lower level professionals and technicians.
*Schedules staffing and work assignments, orients and trains new employees.
*Administers specialized respiratory treatments including setting up and monitoring of long-term life support equipment, ventilation care, oxygen therapy, inhalation treatments and performs blood gas analysis procedures. Prepares and administers prescribed medications.
*Observes patient during treatment and notifies attending physician or nurse of any adverse reactions.
*Makes an entry of treatment in patient's medical record.
*Maintains respiratory therapy equipment, reports any failure of equipment and institutes measures for its immediate repair.
*Ensure equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
*Assist the director in determining respiratory therapy equipment and supply needs.
*Maintains inventory control of equipment and supplies.
*Assists in preparing and/or presenting in-service education and training programs.
*Provides technical advice to medical staff.
*Maintains necessary respiratory therapy records and ensures appropriate documentation is completed for assigned shift.
*Assist in quality assurance audits in recording compliance or non-compliance within established departmental guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

**Education: Graduation from an approved respiratory care program; and **Experience: Two (2) years of experience as a registered respiratory therapist **Licensure: Possession of a valid Oklahoma license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, and Registry (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
