As a Phlebotomy Service Representative, you will perform the daily activities as described below.
Assists professional staff in routine technical tasks such as: preparation of reagents, specimen processing, loading instruments and send outs. Other duties to include filing, temperature checks, stocking supplies, answering telephone calls, etc. Receives specimens into the laboratory using Cerner and QLS LIS systems. Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed; other duties as assigned. Follow employer policies; work with fellow employees in a professional, productive manner.
Collection of blood and urine specimens using various techniques and devices. Accession patient information and tests into the Care 360 system. Process all types of specimens collected. Obtain billing information from patients and ICD-10 information from clients when necessary. Communicate effectively and politely with internal and external customers.
Knowledge of Venipuncture techniques using vacutainer needles and hubs, butterfly devices, safety needle and syringes.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Medical training helpful (medical assistant, paramedic).
Medical terminology helpful.
Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Excellent computer skills, customer service skills, knowledge of medical terminology, phlebotomy skills. 1 year Phlebotomy experience- pediatric and geriatric capillary and venipuncture. Customer service in a service environment preferred.
Proficiency in collecting blood specimens from all age groups including pediatrics and geriatrics. Ability to handle large volumes of patients in a timely manner. Ability to successfully interact with all DLO departments and DLO clients. Ability to use a computer and keyboard.
Special Requirements: 1 Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements; weekends, holidays, on call and overtime. 2 Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric. 3 Demonstrates good organization, communication, and interpersonal skills, is able to manage concerns of patients and employees in a professional manner. 4 Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high volume setting
Ability to maintain a professional, courteous and pleasant attitude in times of heavy workload and stress. Teamwork with fellow employees is a must. Keyboard skills are important. Good customer service skills, professional appearance and attitude. Phlebotomy certification is a plus.
Able to work any day including weekends and holidays; able to flex hours and work overtime for other shifts as needed.

This is a full-time position working 3rd shift Monday- Friday, 10:00pm - 6am, 40 hour per week. Hours may vary
The position is located in at ISMC in Oklahoma City, OK.
May need to meet the client’s needs by coming in early or staying late when necessary
May be relocated as business needs require.
