HCA, Hospital Corporation of America Medical Staff Coordinator - Full Time in Ogden, Utah

The Medical Staff Coordinator leads the direction and management of the Medical Staff Office Activities. The Coordinator also serves as the primary liaison between hospital and Credentialing Processing Center (CPC) on processes related to initial appointment, re-appointment and clinical privileging. The Medical Office Coordinator also provides secretarial assistant and support to the President of the Medical Staff Office in administering the business of the Medical Staff through the clinical departments, divisions, committees and the membership at large. Additional responsibilities as assigned.

  • Develop hospital credentialing policies in accordance with accreditation/regulatory standards, HCA policies, and medical staff bylaws.

  • Facilitate medical staff meetings (develop agendas, maintain meeting minutes, coordinate follow-up).

  • Facilitate orientation for new medical staff members and new officers and committee members.

  • Stay abreast of accreditation and regulatory requirements.

  • Notify the CPC and corporate teams of any upcoming or ongoing surveys relative to credentialing, privileging and peer review activities and functions.

  • Facilitate development of eligibility criteria for each clinical privilege.

  • Coordinate with the quality department to facilitate focused professional practice evaluation (FPPE), and any related evaluation at the conclusion of FPPE or a period of provisional status.

  • Coordinate with the risk manager to review and evaluate an applicant’s claims history and NPDB or other reports regarding final settlements.

  • Develop and maintain a policy regarding the management, access to, and distribution of credentialing, privileging, and peer review information, in accordance with confidentiality requirements and record retention policies.

  • At least 3 years in credentialing management, preferred.

  • Experience with facility’s accreditation process and standards.

  • Detailed working knowledge of the healthcare and credentialing industry.

  • Bachelors degree preferred.

  • NAMSS certified at CPMSP or CPCS preferred.
