Grande Communications is currently seeking a seasonedField Operations Supervisorfor our Odessa location. This person will be responsible for overseeing and managing the network maintenance and repair groups. Are you a strong leader? Do you like to make sure the job is done right the first time? ResponsibilitiesTheField Operations Supervisormanages the Broadband Service Technicians (BSTs), Broadband Communications Technicians (BCTs) and the Broadband Network Technicians (BNTs) groups activities, including but not limited to: service calls, network maintenance, other service related issues, employee training, coaching and development, hiring, performance management and quality assurance. Assist in the preparation of departmental budgets for both capital and operating expenses. Monitors network performance and reliability and manages network preventative maintenance scheduling. These duties will include, but are not limited to:Ensures compliance with all state and federal record keeping, safety, and operational/technical specifications (FCC, PUC, OSHA, etc.)Generates additional sales opportunities through training and motivation of the Broadband Communications TechniciansResolves escalated customer complaints and issues in a timely and courteous manner, as necessary; will have on-call duties as assignedResolves escalated network degrades and outages and other related network issues in a timely and courteous manner, as necessaryEffectively communicates all critical information, as needed, to the Field Operations team and other departments/entitiesDrives a company vehicle in the course and scope of performing dutiesOther duties as assigned
RequirementsOur ideal candidate will possess:High School Diploma or equivalentAssociates degree in related field preferred or equivalent relevant experienceMinimum of three or more years of experience in a broadband related position with all three products (phone, HSD, CATV) and demonstrate technical proficiency related to, but not limited to the following platforms and required test equipment to maintain those platforms: Platforms = DFHFC, DISC*S Copper DLCs, HFC, SONETNetwork Test/Repair equipment = OTDR, 860 DSP, HP 859C, Fiber Splicing Unit (FITEL, Tomcat, etc.), RSVP, SST, Dynatel 965, T-Berd 2209Intermediate level PC, laptop and router skills, along with Microsoft Office Suite and Windows-based software skillsGREAT attitude, customer service skills, leadership skills AND ability to act with a sense of urgencyValid Driver License and satisfactory driving record per Grande's fleet policy
