With your commitment in the Bank Associate role, Provident Bank can help you develop in your career and climb the ladder of success!POSITION SUMMARYThe Bank Associate I responds to customers' needs by processing a variety of financial transactions including check cashing, withdrawals, deposits, and loan payments. This position is responsible for managing and balancing a cash drawer, preparing daily paperwork according to branch procedures, and directing the customer to other banking services, bank personnel and cross-selling. Responsibilities include customer experience behaviors (greeting and thanking customer, using their name etc.), lobby management, and assisting the banking center supervisor with Teller line and end of day functions. Works under general supervision.MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES -Opens and/or closes BranchResearches errors in deposits and withdrawals; consults with supervisor for more complex issuesAssists with daily Branch proofing tasks including ATM and VaultMay buy and sell cash from vault & TCRProcesses official checksParticipates in both internal and external sales activities including community and networking eventsSupports and adheres to branch operation standards; accurately and efficiently completes all paperwork, disclosures and conditionsEnsures compliance with policies and procedures as requiredPrepares and/or completes CTR/SAR form on appropriate transactionsMust be able to work a flexible hourly schedule as requestedMay be asked to travel to other locations / branchesMust present a professional imageProvides access to safe deposit boxesAssists in training other branch personnelPerform other duties as requiredSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNoneSKILLSGood interpersonal skills, including listening, written and verbal communicationAbility to work with a wide variety of personalities in a courteous and professional mannerSolid math and analytical skillsAbility to understand and follow safety and security practicesGood relationship building skillsAbility (strong) to build relationships through consultative conversations and to identify customer needs and translate those needs to sales opportunitiesStrong customer service/advocacy skillsGood organizational and time management skillsGood PC skills; and the ability to quickly learn other computer programs, including Microsoft officeEDUCATIONHigh school diploma or GEDWORK EXPERIENCE6 months - 2 years in a retail sales/service environment preferredLICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATESNoneWORKING CONDITIONSWork is mainly performed under general office conditions in a retail-banking establishment.
