Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is the nation’s leading women’s health care provider, educator, and advocate, serving women, men, teens and families. Planned Parenthood is launching a new Data Insight and Action Lab whose purpose will be to surface insights around key organizational challenges, and to design and implement initiatives to convert these insights into action within the organization.The primary goals of the Data Insight and Action Lab are to: 1) Learn and systematize how to best utilize data and data tools to surface key insights from user behaviors, that have the potential to solve key organizational challenges; 2) Learn and systematize how to best put these key insights into action to better meet the needs of our users and to help PP succeed in its mission; 3) Take on and solve priority organizational challenges, such as expanding the use of OAS, as the subject matter (i.e. projects) for getting at goals 1 and 2. The Lab will launch with an initial focus on increasing the value of PPFA’s Online Appointment Scheduling to its users.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and oversee the Data Insight and Action Lab plan including concrete measurable goals.
Build, develop and lead a strong Data Lab team with an emphasis on concrete measurable Data Lab goals and organizational goals.
Work closely with CSO, National Office team members, affiliates and vendors to achieve the goals of the Data Lab, including identifying key business challenges, refining the questions we want to answer using data, using data and data tools to surface insights and developing and executing action plans based on key insights.
Work with Data Analyst to maximize the use of data and data tools to support the objectives of the Data Lab; this includes surfacing key insights, measuring action plan progress against goals and developing and using dashboards for use by the Data Lab and PPFA.
Work with Data Analyst to identify new tools that can be used by the Data Lab to advance its work.
Work with Associate Director to develop appropriate action plans for rolling out solutions to PPFA, including organization wide campaigns when necessary.
Work closely with Associate Director to build strong relationships with Affiliates and other PPFA stakeholders involved in action plan execution or interested in the outcomes.
Effectively communicate the Data Lab vision, plan and results to PPFA leaders, staff and board.
Manage and oversee the Data Lab budget.
Manage and oversee a small team including an Associate Director, Senior Digital Analytics Manager and a Data Analyst.
REQUIREMENTS / TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
Bachelor’s degree required.
5-8 years of growing related experience.
Basic knowledge and awareness of data analytics tools likely to be used by the Data Lab.
Experience developing and executing campaign plans, including internally focused marketing efforts.
Experience developing and managing against a budget.
