Harris Computer Systems Vice President, Sales and Marketing in Niagara Falls/Buffalo, New York

Harris Local Government (HLG), a division of Harris Computer, is seeking a Vice President of Sales and Marketing responsible for leading the sales organization, developing and executing sales strategies for achieving annual quotas and revenue targets.

Our ideal candidate is a seasoned sales executive who possesses an energetic and highly motivated attitude to join our organization. Our sales strategy calls for both maximizing the penetration of our software products and services into our customer base as well as driving the acquisition of increased market share in our targeted regions.

The VP of Sales and Marketing is an integral piece of the senior leadership team with the highest priorities being our financial performance and creating an organization that endures forever.

  • Develop and execute sales strategies that support the organizations objectives related to growth and profitability across multiple regions and product lines.

  • Responsible for forecasting and achieving quarterly sales targets, territory plans, and compensation plans.

  • Recruit, develop, and retain a premier sales team that meets / exceeds individual and team goals. High engagement with the sales team and our prospects, frequently on-site, required to coach and monitor sales performance.

  • Must be able to quickly grasp knowledge of the local government market and our products and services to successfully participate in presentations / demonstrations and contract negotiations.

  • Lead and instill a culture of deep client relationships and a high level of service that benefits the sales objectives.The sales team is an active participant in maintaining and enhancing customer relationships – communicating issues, coordinating internal resources, and driving towards resolution / satisfaction.

  • Oversee all marketing related activities, working in stride with support leadership, to identify, evaluate, and implement effective activities that support our objectives.

  • Partner with R&D to best understand our current product offerings, evaluating future innovations, and aligning them with client and Harris objectives.

  • Full responsibility for the resources, budgeting, utilization and P/L for the department.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement; possessing a ‘never done’ attitude when it comes tools, technologies, processes, or ideas that can perpetually drive better results.

  • Acquisition integration support as needed.

  • An undergraduate business or technical degree is required; an MBA or professional post-graduate degree can be considered an asset

  • Excellent sales / product strategy development and problem solving skills.

  • Business development focus and experience (relative to new products, services and go-to-market approaches)

  • Be a goal-oriented, self starter & driven individual with an excellent ability to execute and sustain a high sense of urgency.Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport across the company and our customers.

  • Experience selling in the public sector will be considered an asset

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Sales Leadership, Director level or higher preferred

  • Significant travel is required (50%)
