Commercial Banking provides comprehensive solutions, including lending and treasury services, to corporations, municipalities, financial institutions and not-for-profit entities with annual revenues generally ranging from $20 million to $2 billion, as well as real estate investors and owners.

Wholesale Lending Services (WLS) exists within Commercial Banking and provides loan servicing functions to all four JPMorgan lines of business. These functions include loan documentation, closing and funding, payment and fee processing, syndication loan and trade processing, credit administration and collateral perfection and management.

Job Description

This role resides within WLS Process, Risk and Control and supports the team’s responsibility for ensuring effective implementation of the operational risk framework across the function. This position collaborates and partners with the WLS management team, the CB Controls Group, the CB Data & Analytics team and other functional support groups (Compliance, Audit, Finance, etc.) to optimize risk and control functions and practices within WLS.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Engage with internal partners to conduct analyses using key risk indicators and other control metrics produced by the business and operational risk to identify negative trends and potential control gaps; develop new data / information as needed

  • Identify, define and manage control reporting needs, including metric identification, reporting views, report frequency, use and distribution

  • Collect data requirements from internal partners to develop reporting as needed

  • Provide input and suggestions on ways to improve reporting process; where possible, streamline (automate) reporting to make it a more robust, efficient and effective process

  • Gather information from various sources, synthesize the information, perform analysis, and interpret results

  • Identify, document and communicate data integrity/quality issues and data capture gaps

  • Perform ongoing analysis of program related data and develops ad-hoc reports as requested to support business related programs and strategies

  • Prepare and make reports / presentations on performance, recommendations or analytical results

  • Provide data expertise support for existing reports, dashboards, measures or other tools

  • Ensure appropriate root cause analyses for significant operational losses and risk events; assist in implementation of resulting control enhancements as needed

  • Lead, or participate in, other operating risk and control initiatives as needed

Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years financial services experience with minimum 3 years supporting analytics and reporting for operational risk, controls or audit data analysis and data governance

  • Working knowledge of audit, risk and operational management concepts and the ability to understand and interpret data and information

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with advanced knowledge of spreadsheets, databases and presentation software, including MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint

  • Demonstrated knowledge and exposure to one or more Business Intelligence toolsets and database platforms: Business Objects, Cognos, Crystal, SAS, R, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL/Oracle/Teradata, Tableau, QlikView etc

  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal form, in a manner that is clear, logical and concise, including, the ability to present information in differing degrees of detail and form depending on the audience

  • Experience in effective presentation/visualization of data analytics and reporting

  • Working knowledge of loan operations environment

  • Ability to deliver timely, high quality reporting and analysis from diverse data sources
