Job Description:


* *The System Engineer will be responsible for design, startup, and technical support, of all projects. You will oversee the preparation of project submittals as well as work closely with the project manager to insure design integrity and functionality. Re-designs if necessary to meet the customers requirements. Assists the Sales Department with pre-bid review to insure that bid proposals meet specifications and functionality demands. Provide on-site system programming, commission, test, and train on system in the field and achieve client sign off. Assist service department in high level system issues.



  • Engineer, design and configure aspects of projects
  • Prepare, update and store design and construction drawings
  • Insures project manager purchases supplies needed for design and functional requirements
  • Establish and maintain engineering work schedules
  • Maintains good communications between customer, project managers and engineering staff
  • Assists in preparation of data required for progress payments and final billing
  • Provide support with installation, staging and configuration data used for estimate
  • Works closely with estimator to insure accuracy of equipment and configuration estimates
  • Program, commission, and test various integrated security solutions
  • Track and accurately post engineering times to appropriate jobs

Experience and Skills:


Required –

  • Thorough knowledge of networking and system servers
  • Experienced with security system design, telecommunications, and AC/DC electric theory
  • *Skilled in CAD and Drafting techniques a plus. *
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Preferred certifications in Lenel, AMAG, ONSSI, Verint


  • BS degree and 4 years of system level experience or comparable work experience.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and MS Project
  • Completed Trade School or Two Year Degree in Basic Electronics, or at least 5 years of field / hands-on experience with excellent technical background


Work primarily will be in a climate controlled type atmosphere. Occasionally, work will be done either outside or in non-heated or non-air conditioned buildings, presenting possible extremes of hot and cold. The employee will be working in a variety of environments including some that have many special rules and procedures which must be followed at all times. When working in a chemical plant environment, these rules include wearing fire retardant clothing, hard hats, safety harness, hearing protection and other personal protective equipment. This position may require the employee to operate and work from a motorized man-lift. The position may require heavy lifting, climbing and heavy physical exertion.
