Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Startup Business Development Manager to join our web services team to engage with promising startups in order to generate, track and manage leads. This will be done in collaboration with business development and field counterparts to close sales opportunities. This person will be responsible for sourcing leads at startup events and by prospecting end-user accounts as well as ensuring that all in-bound and out-bound leads generated by the business development and sales team are being handled in a timely manner both as they are generated, and after they have been assigned to a field rep and managed as they mature. 



Responsibilities

  • Prospect decision-makers at startup companies to profile their specific purchasing plans and decision criteria for cloud based solutions

  • Work closely with business development and marketing to drive campaigns into specific startup market segments and regions; organize and participate in startup events to generate leads

  • Capture, track, and advance qualified leads in CRM leads management system (Salesforce)

  • Recommend the most suitable solution according to the customers requirements and solutions

  • Follow up on lead opportunities and search for additional revenue opportunities

  • Conduct regular rhythm review of sales inquires to opportunities; measure opportunities to conversion ratio

  • Attend startup related events in the respective startup markets, interacting with startups and selling them on the AWS cloud.

  • BA or BS Degree

  • 5 years’ experience working within a technical organization or startup(s)

  • 7 years IT sales, direct sales or pre-sales experience

  • Prior experience working in a similar role and working environment

  • Previous cloud sales/knowledge, understanding of the lifecycle and needs of startups

  • An interest in technology and the startup ecosystem

  • Excellent sales, presentation and communication skills

  • Ability to learn quickly, be creative and take initiative

  • Self-reliant, adaptable, decisive, and professional

  • Able to function in a team environment

  • Results-oriented

  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and able to professionally interact with customers
