Job Description:

Nutrition Associate

Main Function:

Responsible for taking “Room service meal orders “and processing requests within established timeframes.

  1. Responsibility 1: MEAL PROCESSING

  2. Takes meal orders and inputs data in Diet Office System.

  3. Reviews patients’ Diet Order to identify those who are eligible to participate in the Room Service Meal Delivery Program (e.g., patients not on NPO, clear liquid diets, tube feedings, etc.).

  4. Generates a Room Service Menu that is in compliance with patient’s prescribed diet.

  5. Generates list of patients who missed a meal from the Diet Office System, at the designated meal cut-off time.

  6. Responsibility 2: DATA ENTRY

  7. Maintains patients’ records to ensure all necessary information is accurate and up-to-date.

  8. Picks up Late Admission Menus and Diet Order changes from nursing station on assigned units at beginning of each meal service.

  9. Responsibility 3: MONITORING AND DOCUMENTATION

  10. Monitors and records all necessary information. Monitors and orders supplies to maintain par levels.

  11. Responsibility 4: SURVEILLANCE, PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF ENVIRONMENT

  12. Follows established safety precautions and sanitation procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Education: High school or G.E.D.

  • Minimum Experience: 1 Year

  • Required Skills:

  • Hotel/Hospitality Knowledge

  • Computer Skills

  • Clinical Dietetics (preferred)

  • Ability to read, write and understand basic instructions
