Summary

The Associate Recruitment Manager is responsible for management of the New York office lawschool On-Campus recruitment processes and outreach, the New York Summer Associate programas well as New York Office entry-level and experienced lawyer recruitment. This team memberreports to the Chief Associate Recruitment Officer and the Hogan Lovells US LLP Recruiting andSummer Associate Committees.


Job Description

LAW STUDENT RECRUITMENT
Manage law school outreach including sponsorships, mock interviews and student
programming.
Manage On-Campus Interview (OCI) registration, including resume select process for
schools as appropriate, preparation of materials for OCI, staffing of hospitality suites.
Oversee candidate travel and review/approve travel expenses.
Manage callback invitation procedures, scheduling with candidates as well as developing in-
office interview meetings.
Supervise the preparation of Recruitment Committee (RC) meeting statistics and reports;
attend meetings RC meetings, manage post-meeting action items, ensure preparation of
candidate correspondence.
Manage post offer follow up activity including scheduling second office visits and candidate
entertainment activity.
Manage preparation of post-offer candidate communications including electronic surveys.
Manage completion of post-OCI feedback via Symplicity or NALP form as requested by law
schools.
Supervise 1L resume collect and OCI process as appropriate.
Manage International LLM. Recruitment initiatives, including coordination with international
offices that plan to attend January/February job fairs.
Plan, implement and drive efforts to increase and improve firm visibility and firm brand at
targeted schools.
Support law student diversity hiring and initiatives.
Work with Recruitment Committee co-chairs to establish and meet recruiting targets and
initiativesSUMMER ASSOCIATE PROGRAM
Serve as a key contact and point of information for New York summer associates and others
involved with the summer program.
Plan and manage summer associate on boarding and orientation including pre-arrival
marketing information and outreach, and serve as a resource for other US offices as they
plan for their local office programs.
Oversee and manage the New York Summer program, including mentor assignments,
training, summer associate retreat, work assignment and mini rotation programs.
Manage evaluation processes including oversight of evaluation files and scheduling for mid-
summer and exit interviews.
Plan and execute summer associate social events.
Manage the creation and dissemination of post-summer survey and analyze results.LATERAL RECRUITMENT
Work with practice area leaders to identify and analyze lateral hiring needs.
Screen candidate resumes and work with firm attorneys to identify candidates to be
interviewed; Oversee the timely preparation and distribution of candidate and search firm
correspondence.
Support lateral attorney diversity hiring initiatives.
Develop and maintain relationships with legal search firms.ASSOCIATE/ATTORNEY ON-BOARDING
Oversee the candidate conflicts, reference and background checks and bar verification
process.
Oversee arrival information in firm applicant tracking and firm intake systems.
Manage orientation for incoming associates in the New York office.
Oversee integration initiates including social events (lunches, welcome reception, etc.) and
regular check in with lateral and entry-level hires.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the preparation and maintenance of associate, attorney and specialist files in
accordance with firm policies and procedures.
Administer and maintain Hogan Lovells US LLP associate recruiting policies, operational
procedures and practices consistent with the firm goals and objectives.
Act as a liaison and contact for US office recruitment.
Supervise, manage and mentor recruiting staff, including training, coaching and performance
feedback.
Assist Chief Associate Recruitment Officer with preparation of annual budget related to
summer associate and law student recruitment and attorney on-boarding initiatives.
Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external constituencies including HL
lawyers and administrative departments, law school career services professionals, search
firms vendors and others.
Keep abreast of current recruiting practices and maintain membership with NYCRA and
National Association for Law Placement (NALP).

Qualifications


Six (6)+ years of experience in law firm attorney recruitment required.
Ability to build consensus, exercise discretion, good judgment, flexibility and maintain
confidential information.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage, organize and implement detailed and complex projects.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with all levels of business services
employees and lawyers.
Ability to work independently and maintain composure under pressure.
Strong supervisory skills.
Bachelor degree or equivalent work-related experience.


Hours
