JPMorgan Chase 2017 Summer Intern - Firmwide Operational Risk Data Management & Analytics – Platform Data Integrity Analyst in New York, New York

Operational Risk Governance (“ORG”) is a function within Independent Risk Management responsible for developing the firmwide Operational Risk Management Framework (“ORMF”) and overseeing its implementation across Lines of Business (“LOBs”) and functions. Within ORG, Corporate Operational Risk (“COR”) is responsible for the development and maintenance of the firmwide Operational Risk Governance Policy and associated standards. These standards direct and assist LOBs and Corporate Functions on how to manage and mitigate the operational risk inherent in their activities and improve understanding of the Firm's operational risk exposure. Operational Risk Officers (“OROs”) independently challenge LOBs and Corporate Functions on their implementation of the ORMF and adherence to the Operational Risk Policy and associated standards.

ORG is in the process of implementing a Firm-wide Operational Risk Data Management and Analytics platform. This application will land data from various sources of 1st, 2nd and 3rd lines of defense, calculate metrics and measure the results against targets and thresholds. ORG is looking for a Summer Intern to

  • Prepare test plans and scripts to support Unit, Integration and Regression tests

  • Prepare expected results and conduct actual vs expected result analysis

  • Research failed test scenarios and work closely with developers to remediate

  • Document and present project progress, analysis results, and proposals to management, partners, and other key stakeholders

  • Lead or participate in other operational risk initiatives across ORG, as appropriate

Required Qualifications:

  • Analytic and problem-solving skills; inquisitive nature and comfort challenging current practices

  • Ability to develop constructive relationships with functional partners

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Strong MS Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • High School Diploma and enrollment in an Undergraduate program focused on business administration, finance or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in handling large data sets; technical skills (SQL, Access, VBA, etc.) a plus
