The HG Generalist supports the management team and will be responsible for all HR administration and assisting with recruiting and special projects. This role requires a high degree of discretion as well as a strong communication and employee relation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle complaints, resolve issues, improve processes

  • Hiring and onboarding for all employees, ensuring paperwork is correctly filled out with W4, I9, direct desposit, handbook.

  • Analyze labor turnover data

  • Review monthly billing for union benefits and follow-up with controller and Compass Group on any discrepancies and work towards correcting.

  • Process and/or dispute unemployement and workers' compensation claims

  • Manage exit survey process, review responses

  • Produce and review offer letters for Senior Management

  • Work with legal department to draft and execute Senior Management employment agreements

  • Coordinate Senior Management severance agreements

  • Assist with sector compensation/talent management collection and analysis

  • Develop presentations for Senior Management meetings

  • Monitor Sr. VP HR budget/expenses

  • Process on-line selection assessments

  • Perform administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must have worked in fast-paced, very flexible environment, where phone calls are never ending, e-mails are frequent, and organizational skills are a must

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, related field or equivalent related experience

  • PHR or SPHR certification a plus

  • Two + years experience as HR representative/generalist

  • Working knowledge of employment law

  • Strong computer skills including MS office, SAP, web based research

  • Experienced in scheduling activities or duties, coordinating activities, handling complaints and resolving issues

  • Experience in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions

  • Bilingual Spanish-English a plus

  • Content-knowledge regarding employment law, policies, procedures and programs

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, analytical and mathematical skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow

  • Commitment to excellence and process improvement
