This position creates project schedules that enable effective planning and project delivery from initial research to launch including: candidate / indication, IND, clinical studies, regulatory submission, launch planning levels. This role is a key contributor to the development and implementation of a project planning discipline in Research and Development to achieve excellence in overall operational delivery.Principal ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with project teams and functional lines to build and maintain accurate RandD project schedules that are both aggressive and realistic, to minimize cycle time and increase opportunity to deliver on plan and on budget. Ensure currency of the integrated project schedule that supports the project and portfolio metrics, resource management, and portfolio reporting.Directly contribute to robust scenario planning, building schedules and forecasting, associated development costs that depict various development options, processes, operations, and systems for the planning and management of RandD resources (dollars and FTEs).Build schedules and forecasts associated development costs that depict various development options, processes, operations, and systems for the planning and management of RandD resources (dollars and FTEs).Support alignment of the project schedule and FTE and dollar resources to plan.Create, maintain, assess, and challenge plans cross-functionally within the overall project plan for the Integrated Development Plan schedule across the RandD continuum (LD to launch).Lead comprehensive critical path analysis, simulation, and other methodologies that enable effective strategic and operational planning.Directly support projects by proactively implementing processes and methodologies related to planning, scheduling, estimating/forecasting, risk assessment, cost and schedule performance and resource requirements, capacity and productivity analysis.Assess project performance through evaluation of variance to the baselined development plan, schedule, and resource demand to determine their impact on programs. Identify areas of concern to proactively implement corrective actions.Generate and interpret reports on project performance and demand forecasting to support effective planning and operational execution within the team.Work closely with Project Managers and project teams to ensure accurate and timely controls to support project delivery and goal achievement.Partner across development and research functional disciplines to ensure accurate, aligned, and linked plans to optimize quality and speed.Lead integration and assessment of cross-functional resource demand forecasting assessments.Supports the governance portfolio reviews by developing and maintaining project schedule visual depictions for project teams.Drive quality and consistency of the information in plans (dates and plan attributes) to support accurate project and portfolio level reporting. Partner with Project Managers to ensure that the program information is accurate and up-to-date in planning systems and reporting.Ensure that schedules conform to global standards and key milestones are coded correctly to support accurate analysis and reporting.Provides training and mentoring new and established users in planning systems, associated operating procedures and reporting.Partner and influence team and high level project stakeholders to consider alternate pathways based on quantitative analysis and recommendations.Manage planning for multiple complex projects at various stages of drug development.Proactively manage project risks with cross funct
