Education Programs Professionals assist and foster the growth of K-12, postsecondary, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
Education Program Supervisors assist and foster the growth of K-12, postsecondary, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
Under the direction of the Administrator, Office of Assessment, Data and Accountability Management (ADAM) at the Nevada Department of Education, the Education Programs Supervisor provides oversight and leadership to guide the work and initiatives of the Assessment group within ADAM, based in Carson City, NV. The incumbent provides direct supervision for two Education Programs Professionals and two professional staff members. The Assessment group is responsible for all assessment related efforts including oversight of assessment vendor contracts, assisting in the development processes, conducting training, supporting reporting efforts, managing security best practice and security issues as they arrive, and engaging with stakeholders as needed. The Supervisor also communicates with stakeholders regarding initiatives and policies that support Office and Department goals and objectives. The Supervisor's duties also include analysis and use of data and information from assessments to inform Department efforts in remediation efforts. Ideal candidates will have a significant experience and expertise in assessment and state and federal policies related to assessment.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and three years of professional experience in an educational program area; OR one year of experience as an Education Programs Professional in Nevada State service.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Some positions require a valid driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
Some positions require work on evenings and weekends.
Some positions require statewide travel.
