Administrative Assistants perform a variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties such as maintaining records and files; composing and editing correspondence; data entry; office management; and budget monitoring.

Positions are located within the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of Health and Human Services, Carson City, NV, and Administration. ADSD provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, friendly co-workers, and is a great place to work. The mission of the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan to allow all of Nevada's elders, children and adults with disabilities or special health care needs, to live independent, meaningful and dignified lives to the greatest extent possible.
Aging and Disability Services is currently recruiting for multiple Administrative Assistant IV positions which will serve as the administrative support to the Deputy Administrators throughout the Division's multiple programs, 1) Aging and Disabilities, 2) Nevada Early Intervention Services, and 3) Intellectual Disabilities. Administrative duties to include budget monitoring by compiling, organizing and consolidating financial and statistical data; prepare reports and budget documents according to specific instructions from the Deputy Administrator; arranging travel for individuals in multiple locations, coordinating attendance by internal agency management and external entities; act as a liaison for the Deputy Administrator regarding agency activities, operations and programs; coordinate communications with other administrators, agency managers, leaders of external and internal groups and coordinate activities with community groups. Incumbents will research and investigate complaints, public inquires and issues raised by external entities. Incumbents will be required to explain program rules and regulations to these customers. Applicants must possess a high level of professionalism, drive, and time management abilities for these positions, which will represent the division to the multifaceted group of consumers that we serve.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
Travel up to 25%.

Experience Monitoring a budget.
Experience Tracking Bills or working with the legislature.
CLERICAL SUPPORT EXAM
The exam will consist of a written weighted 100%.
