HCA, Hospital Corporation of America Vice President Clinical Informatics in Nashville, Tennessee
Advances the HCA Clinical Agenda and Clinical Informatics Strategy through the strategic application of applied clinical informatics. Leads the strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation and coordination of clinical information and technology solutions that improve clinical workflow and patient outcomes. Integrates solutions and projects for the enterprise to create a seamless workflow for clinicians. Collaborates with clinicians, informaticians, technology experts and leaders across the enterprise to identify and evaluate opportunities and solutions.
Develops and implements integrated long term and short term strategies for clinical informatics that are aligned with HCA’s strategic vision and the strategies and tactics of the Clinical Services Group’s Clinical Informatics program.
Designs implementation strategies for informatics solutions in collaboration with corporate, division, and facility colleagues that maximize potential for success and minimize operational disruption.
Integrates evidence based practice, informatics science, and management principles into strategies and tools.
Ensures that informatics strategy and solutions are designed collaboratively with the clinical informatics team, architected according to IT&S and Clinical Informatics principles.
Defines data requirements for monitoring performance, improvement, and outcomes of solutions. Works collaboratively with reporting and analytics experts to provide meaningful reports and analysis to facility, division, and corporate leaders.
Maintains active communication strategy with key stakeholder groups.
Manages staff within the department and resources assigned to projects to meet budget expectations.
Ensures collaborative working relationships with corporate departments, division, and facility leaders.
Contributes to the executive leadership of the CSG Clinical Informatics team.
Provides expertise and consultation to facilities, divisions, and corporate departments.
Develops and implements short and long term strategies for appropriate education and career planning for informatics professional development at HCA.
EXPERIENCE : 5-7 years experience as a clinician. 5-10 years experience in informatics. Progressive leadership experience required. Previous experience as a CMIO or similar role strongly preferred.
EDUCATION : M.D or D.O. preparation required. Formal graduate preparation in informatics or management at the master’s or doctoral level strongly preferred.
Active license to practice medicine in at least one state required
Board Certification in a recognized medical specialty preferred
Clinical Informatics Subspecialty Board Certification preferred
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS :
Previous experience with large scale informatics initiatives required, multi-facility experience desired. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Certification in clinical informatics required within 12 months of hire. #LI-TF1
