TriStar Skyline Medical Center is currently looking for an full time EEG Technician - Weekends Only.
Shifts: Friday - Sunday 7am- 7pm
_POSITION SUMMARY:_ * Demonstrate and maintain an understanding of Human anatomy, physiology, pathology, medical terminology, waveforms and electrical activity to obtain optimal studies. * Consistently remain competent on : * How to hook and un-hook patient leads for both EKG and EEG. * Maintain knowledge on how to provide non-invasive EEG testing and continuous monitoring for Neurology/Epilepsy patients in the EMU. * Provide accurate and high quality EKG studies for patient diagnosis and treatment. * Maintain the skills required to properly use and clean the electrodes by following manufactures recommendations and policies/procedures of Skyline Medical Center and the EMU/EKG department. * While monitoring patients having an EEG the technologist must have the ability to recognize when the patient is having an active event, monitor the patient, keep them safe during the event and screen the patient afterwards.
_Technologist must: _ * Contact the physician with any updates regarding active events or questionable areas on an EEG. * Be the primary liaison between patients, physicians and other members of the support team regarding patient care. * Remain competent in production, use recognition, and analysis of images and patterns used for patient diagnosis/treatment and relay all pertinent clinical history and related diagnostic procedures to provide the highest quality of patient care. * Be knowledgeable of and compliant with the Policies, Procedures and Regulations relating to the Departments of Cardiology, Neurology and Skyline Medical Center.
_POSITION QUALIFICATION:_ * Graduation from high school. * 2 years of applicable job experience preferred. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. * American Heart Association BLS certification required. * ABRET Registry preferred but not required
